John had previously built a Ford Model Y hot rod in the early 70's and having grown bored of it was looking for something a little bigger, like a '32 Tudor. After searching for sometime he found a Tudor for sale in Norfolk.
The car was somewhat untidy but in decent condition and had already been fitted with a Ford 289. However the work done hadn't been done well and John pulled everything apart. He fitted a Chevy 327 and Jag' IRS. The front beam axle remained but with added disc brakes. It was on the cover and featured in 'Custom Car' magazine in December 1975. The car has been through a few hands and had a few changes since then.
However it has always been known as 'Spats '32' and can be recognised by it's distinctive plate number of 00 1932
