Russel Ward

Russel was no new comer to hot rod building. By 1969 he had already had his Ford Pop hot rod on the road. But in April 1972 he had moved on and purchased a '32 Cabriolet from a friend.

The car was junk as Russ put it, but it did come with a new crate Cadillac V8 engine and rear axle. Originally the car was a Canadian import with the steering on the left hand side. As the steering was missing anyway Russ decided to convert it to right hand drive. A big part of the work was turning it into a 'low boy' with the body being channeled over the chassis.. Russ sold the car and finally ends up in the hands of David Palmer who completely rebuilt it.

It was un-channeled, with a V6 engine and black paint. The car went off the radar, but it was recently discovered and in a bad state of repair. The new owner is now rebuilding it and so this well known '32 should be back on the road very soon.
