Rob's coupe was one of the early bodies to come from Jago Automotive. Although there were a couple already on the road it was Rob's coupe that received the most attention.
It was a regular at indoor and outdoor shows and over the years winning many trophies. Rob would be constantly improving the car. Starting with a Pinto engine, then a Chevy V8 and finally adding a super charger. Rob's coupe was featured in Custom Car magazine in 1978, on the cover of 'Car Mechanics' magazine in Jan' '79, used as ad for Plastic Padding filler, it was in the June '79 issue of Custom Car magazine (again), a free large poster in 'Hot car' magazine and in 'Hot Rod and Custom' magazine in Feb'82. It's doubtful that any other '32 has received that much press.
The car still exists and is regularly seen at shows although it's appearance is totally different now. The coupe is still referred to as 'The Rob Whitwell coupe'
